About us
We are Desy and Santi, sisters, best friends and the ones who started Snuggle & Snooze and Bali Paws.
We first came to Bali over 13 years ago, and call it fate, but even when we tried to build lives in other places, something always pulled us back to this island.
Then about a decade ago something changed everything.
Or better: someone did.
Our first rescue, a tiny puppy we found in the trash.
From that moment on we just kept finding more and helping more and more dogs, and somehow, without ever planning it, Bali Paws became our whole life.
For the first few years we covered everything ourselves: vet bills, food, medication, transport. But eventually we realized that rescue work takes a village and we couldn’t do it alone anymore. And so, with the help of wonderful people around the world, our first Puppy House was born.
we always thrive to give the pups the best life possible while they are waiting for their forever family. A place where the pups are safe, fed, cuddled, and surrounded by people who love them. But we would love to give them more individual attention but as you can imagine, that’s hard to offer with so many dogs and rather limited resources.
…and so we thought: why not get more help from our community? From people like you?! And that’s how the idea of Snuggle & Snooze was born….
And just as fate had it, we found an empty house right next to the Puppy House. We took the risk and put everything we have in it. We wanted to create a place where our pups can go for a mini holiday, while you take care of them and give them a good time and we will do our best to take care of you in the meantime.
And on top of that, it’s a more sustainable way to finance the running cost for the Puppy House but it would also allow us two to not be needing our freelancer jobs and earn an income while doing something we absolutely love.
That’s what we call a win-win-win!
